About Milo'

Miló is a Brooklyn-based New York design brand created by Mireia López.

Born in Barcelona, Spain, Mireia gained her knowledge from the fashion industry at a very early age learning in her family business the art of cutting and sewing after school. This quickly became her favorite playground to be in.

She studied fashion design in Barcelona and on obtaining her degree she joined womenswear retailer Mango. Her passion took her first to London and then to NY where she finally settled. She designed Miguel Adrover's knitwear collections and after years of experience in the industry and tired of last minute trends she decided to start Miló in February 2008. 

Milo' started with a succesful girls only collection but soon after many women were asking for their sizes too...  -"I love the idea of dressing girls of all ages with an easy and modern approach. While fashion can go out of fashion at some point, I hope Miló will be the piece you can always count on to feel special."  

The collection consists of modern, intriguing sweaters and knits for girls and women. The minimal concept enveloping Milo' signature designs reveals a masterful attention to detail through the use of traditional knitting techniques and hand made finishes. There is Interesting volumes, unexpected cuts and effortless silhouettes to discover at Milo'.

Miló is proud to work and support small scale manufacturers, fair trade producers and independent printers and artisans in New York,Barcelona and Nepal. The collection is not mass-produced as each piece is made by hand and treated individually with love and care.

Milo' cashmere and hand knits are made in Nepal through a local center that helps destitute women from rural villages of Gorkha District. the Center has been working over nine years with women by training them to make handcrafts.  A margin from the sales of our product goes to a clinic and a child center in Gaikhur village, Nepal. The clinic supports poor children and women by offering free medical check ups and care.
